I find that a
time-to-time listening to sermons makes my rides so much easier. I see God in
the beauty of the fall colors on my riding routes and in the kindness of people
who wave when they pass.
I thank God too for the ability to ride. For legs that
carry me--that I am able to do something that seems so simple, that so many
people with disabilities can't do.
When I get to hurting during a long race or feeling like
my lungs are going to explode at the end of a hard tempo ride, I think about
the pain that Christ suffered for me when he died on the cross. Comparing my
pain of tiredness to His pain when his body was broken-- That puts things in
perspective for me.
